La Dolce required an elegant website to reflect their high end café and restaurant in the heart of Russell Square, London. The project called for a premium yet minimalist approach, allowing the food, atmosphere and location to become the main focus of the design.
A one page website was created to provide visitors with a simple and seamless browsing experience, presenting the restaurant without unnecessary navigation or complexity. Professional food photography supplied by the client featured prominently throughout, showcasing La Dolce's dishes and creating a strong visual impression. The finished design combined carefully considered typography, imagery and spacing to complement the restaurant's premium positioning.
A dedicated video header was incorporated into the mobile version, creating an engaging introduction to the restaurant while making full use of the smaller screen format.
The high resolution food photography was carefully resized and converted to WebP for online use, significantly reducing file sizes while retaining its visual quality. Following final testing and optimisation, the website was launched on our managed web hosting, allowing us to oversee the hosting environment and ongoing technical requirements. The result was a visually rich restaurant website combining premium presentation with efficient performance.
